Know this is a long shot, but does anyone out there have an ECMspy cable they might be willing to loan to a fellow Bueller? Just need it to load some race maps and thats it. I would gladly pay for the postage necessary to send to me and back to you? Just don;t feel like spending the money to buy one, because this is probably the only time I will ever use it.
Thanks

Check out ebay...they are like 39 usd...Mine crapped the bed and the guy sent me another free of charge as long as i mailed the crap one back....by the time you deal with the hassle and all its probably cheaper to go that route.

If you have an android device and can solder, you can rig a bluetooth setup and hardwire it into the bike for about as much as you are going to pay to ship one back and forth. You would have to cut and splice into the wiring harness though, but just the bit that goes to the diagnostic port.

I have one I can loan you, send me a PM with your address.

That said, like mentioned above, they are cheap enough that it is worth buying one and holding onto, it is an invaluable tool should you need to run diagnostics.

Dwilson... Here is the thread I followed, worked perfectly.

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/736624.html?1398210720

Mine stays hooked to the bike all the time, so if you wanted, you could skip the Deutsch connector and just solder right into the wires on the diagnostic port connector (don't cut them, just splice in).

I got the connector for mine so that if I am on a road trip and need to help another Bueller, I can disconnect and swap it over.

I know I should just buy one, but I just dropped $4000.00 on the bike, and my Wifey is adamant I do not spend anymore money on it right now. Its already got a K&N filter, and I plan on a mufflerectomy in a few weeks, which I can do for free. i don't want to ride it around with the open filter and gutted can, as it runs pretty lean as is and on the hot side. Not trying to be cheap by asking to borrow one, just trying to placate my Wife. I am sure some of you out there understand what thats like: )

Also, it been a while since I have done this..do I reset the TPS before or after loading the racemaps and updating certain values in the "other maps" section of ECM SPY? I seem to remember resetting it after I had burned the maps and the other items, but I could be wrong, as it was a few years ago. Also, the tuned maps I will be using are the same ones I used on my 03. these should work with no problems, right? i did not think there was any substantial difference in the ECM between 03 and 06(what i have now)

Ax - I got your PM, I couldn't make it to the post office today, but it will be in the mail tomorrow.

The TPS reset is only needed if you are burning an EEPROM from a different bike, which I wouldn't recommend doing anyway as if the firmware is different it can cause issues. You can safely burn the fuel maps without it affecting the TPS setting or anything else with the ECM.

Thanks Froggy, much appreciated!. Yep, I know not to burn the entire EEPROM, just the maps/timing tables, and other maps section. I will keep an eye open for the cable. shouldn't need it for more than a few days. I figure i will just go ahead and load the maps to it and run the stock exhaust for now, figure that shouldn't cause any problems...

Thanks Froggy...got the cable, and the maps have been loaded. Bike seems to be running a bit cooler now that it was before. Got a bit more tuning to do, and then i will get the cable back to you.

Thanks again, much appreciated!!!!
