Well still have the same problem....Just put a Brand New HD. Battery in it, took for a ride..all ok till...then it started to act up again..around the 4000 rpms give or take....Stop at a store for abit back on ..all A ok..then again started to break down again around the same rpms...

Seems this is a weird problem...anyone at all with some ideals..The more the better...Thanks

Fuel pressure?
I noticed a week or so ago a very similar problem when I was low on gas. I thought something was up with it then a split second later the light came on. Put gas in it and rode fine. My fuel pump recently died so I have a brand new one in there.
I bring this up because perhaps you have some junk in the pickup screen or some other fuel issue.

when it is ok, where does it settle down and idle at? if it is too high or low, it can cause weirdness.

*might* be the idle speed setting. adjuster is to the left of the front jug (on 03 Firebolt)

someone chime in - I think around 1500 rpm is about right?
