I am in between bikes now (sold my cr in October) and am looking for a bike that can give me several seasons and upwards of 50,000 miles.

What I would like to know is, how many miles do you have on your lightning or ulysses? Also what issues did you have with it, and at what miles?

Has your bike ever left you stranded?

Thank you for your help, I also made a similar post in the 1125 section for the 08s.

I am primarily interested in the 08-10 years with the updated motor.

Is it alright if I put my 2cents in, tho mine is a 04.
Somewhat unreliable for my experiences

I love my 2008 but it has had it fair share of issues in the 48,000 miles.
Nothing earth-shattering, just issues like broken grounds, popped belt, broken clutch cover lip, failed rear wheel bearings.

The type of stuff that are listed on this site as common, in other words.

I have an 04 XB12scg, the only problems were things not fixed by the previous owner when I bought it. Since then it has been fine, I have done several 600+ mile days and commute daily on it.
Several mods, both headlights on, HIDs on both. EBR ecm with drummer exhaust. Over 5k miles last year. Also, full synh fluids always.

I've got an '07 Xb12X with over 60k on it. Transmission output bearing went bad at 30k. While apart for repairs, I put an '08 set of flywheels in. Love the bike, would take it anywhere. Very reliable!

I thought he said 08-10?

09 Uly: Not so happy. Rear wheel bearing, fuel pump, oil disappearing, burnt primary vent tube. Blown aux fuses, horn not working. Nothing like my rock solid 06 city-x.

My 08 Uly has around 43k on it, so far just a broken belt and a bad voltage regulator. I did change to the 2010 rear wheel as I tour on it, to prevent bearing failures.

My 08 1125R at 23k, so far just the leaky clutch slave, and wheel bearings. My 09 CR, same mileage, broken belt, few bad stators, otherwise perfect.

Both my 06 XBs had a boatload of issues (some were my fault), but you weren't asking about those years.
