So this is a really obscure problem and I understand that nobody will probably be able to help me unless they experienced this their self. About a month ago I noticed some weird fuel pump shorts. My bike died on me I reached around to the back of the frame jiggled the pump wires it kicked on and I was good to go. Now my battery is draining over night, if I put it in neutral I can start it but if I put it in gear and pull the clutch it just clicks(on a full battery) and sometimes when I pull my clutch I get sparks flying from my clutch line at the clutch lever. I have a 2003 XB9R |

Yep, tie bar ground under the seat most likely. |

What about the ground under the airbox floor? That one is sneaky. |

The tie bar might be OK, but I bet either the frame side or the engine side has a problem. Go back to battery ground point and run a heavy wire from battery ground point up to the engine, just to make sure. It is definitely a bad ground somewhere, just need to find it or replace it, replacing may be a lot easier. |
