Any feedback on the new D208's? I need a new set and my local Yamaha shop (real nice guys down there, always been treated with the utmost respect) has them in stock for a decent price.

I work in the steel mills up here....rode to work one lovely afternoon, caught something in the rear on the way home. Plugged it (I know, I know) for a quick fix and now I need to get a new set. That's why I ask.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Rich

Used 'em on the NE Tour. Excellent tires, very sticky even in the rain. Same profile as the D207s, though. If you're used to the 207s, that's all well and good, but if you go to the D208 after a M1 or Diablo it'd probably take some getting used to again.

I've got 208s on my M2 and I love 'em... when they're warm... cold is an entirely different story, however.

The guy at the Yama shop said they were stickier and lasted a bit longer.

The price that they want for an M1 on just the rear is what he is gonna slide the set of 208's to me for.

I had thought I had heard good things but I couldn't remember. All ya really hear about is the Metz and the Diab's lately on here.

Rich

BTW... Thanks for the input.

I cant say enough good about the Diablos.
You can mail order em for right around $220 a set.

I have a set of 208's on my M2. Love em! Warm them up a bit before aggrestive cornering.

Usually Dyna, that's what I would do. But, I'm kinda in a bind. Big weekend coming fast. GF bitchin' all the time "You don't ride me anymore!".

I really don't mind the 207's, been good to me. Got 4,000 miles on them and probably still got another 1,000 left on 'em. But, I don't trust that plug with my life. I used to sell tires, and, while, in a car tire they can be very trustworthy, I just don't trust it in my bike. Having a tire go flat in your cage is okay. Alot less adrenaline involved. I just don't want to be clocking 65-70 mph down I80-94 and have the plug decide to stop being a plug and start being a projectile.

It was a quick fix and now I'm tired of worrying about it.

Not that I don't appreciate your thoughts, Dyna.

Being as cheap as I am.
If I found a set of 208s for the price of one rear Diablo, I'd buy the 208s.
They're good tires.

What do you mean, Blake?

I got the 208's for $198 for the set.

If time wasn't an issue, I would have ordered a set of Diablo's off the 'net.

OOOOOH, I see what you got out of that, Blake.

I had to read it again. You got issues.

Here I am, talking about tires, and you are thinking 'bout my rear.

Weirdo! hehe

I just switched to a 208 front, it was a huge improvement over the 207s. I do however still have a 207 on the rear, and this past sunday did a power slide around a corner like a freakin supermoto. Needless to day the rear 208 is soon to come. One of my buddies said that as long as his tire is warm he can do a wheelie in the rain, how he gets it warm in the rain I dunno. Long burnout I guess.

P.S. I still want a set of Diablos! I went to an Aprilla, Ducati, BMW dealer. They wanted 350 mounted and balanced if I brought the rims to them. I told em they could keepem.

KEEP THE RUBBER DOWN

I was suprised that I could actually do a wheelie in the rain with the stock Dunlop 218's.
Havent tried the Diablos in the rain yet.

Just fitted a pair of Diablos. Best tyre I have ever fitted to the XB. Warm up real quick and grip perfectly. Not sure about how long they will last but with this performance I don't care.

Whoops...we seem to be getting generic with the use of the term Diablo again. Sports or Corsa's? Whatever, Pirelli's nomenclature is...

I fitted the standard which I think is the sports. All they sell in the UK is plain Diablo's or Diablo Corsa's. They are not Corsa's.

For a slightly different perspective to the diablo/m1 side of things...
