I was talking to the boss(wife) and she agreed to let me do track days next year and maybe do a race too. The only drawback is I have to take it off the street, which I don't mind. I am wondering how to set up my bike for track only use. Any suggestions?

All depends on the track & which orginization you track day through. Some only require taping up lights, mirrors, etc. Others get all crazy with the safety wiring.

Make sure you drain your antifreeze & run straight water or water wetter: D

I was going to go with NESBA or Sportbike tracktime. I know there basic requirements removal of lights, tape....etc. I'll be running my XB9R so I dont have to worry about antifreeze. Anyone been to either orginizations track days?

Check their bike requirements on their respective websites. The recent one here at Blackhawk Farms has an 80% or more tread requirement.

The way I ride, that means unless I invest in a second set of wheels, tires and a truck I can only do a track day once every two or three years. Not worth the expense.

I recently participated at the SportbikeTrackTime event at Road America on my XB12R. I rode in the Intermediate group and just had to remove my mirrors and tape over lights and turn signals.
They ran a first class event and the only difference between them and other track days I've been to was that they insisted on having a back protector to ride in Intermediate or Expert groups which really was a good idea anyway.
To go to racing, most organizations require that lights be taped, some simple safety wiring, a belly pan (you can get them through your Buell dealership), and removal of mirrors and turn signals.

I've taken CLASS school at Road America for 6 years, they want the mirrors off or taped( take em off), and the brake light disabled( take the fuse out), and good tires, (good idea), their website classrides.com has the rules. Great experience, WELL organized!
