Here are my questions. Any feedback would be appreciated...... What does the TPS sensor do and should I have it zero'd when I install my XB12 air box lid? Is there a way to have both of the headlights have high low and both be on at the same time? Even though the stock headlight bulbs are 55w would it be alright to put 70w bulbs in there or would it melt my wires? (Message edited by mitch_xb9s on August 27, 2004) | ||

The TPS is the Throttle Position Sensor and it informs the ECM of how much throttle you're applying. You won't have to have it 'zeroed' until you either put a Race ECM in or hit the regular maintenance schedule (10K). Yes, several people with XB9Ss have done this, a couple different ways. I'd leave the 55W bulbs in if I were you. | ||

Bryan thanks for the info. What I really want to do for my headlights is make it so each side has a high and a low beam. Then I want them to both be lit at all times. So I want both to be on constantly with a high beam option. Is there anything I can do besides put the switch in the middle? | ||

My low beam stays on when I flip to high beam. Thanks Badweb. I dont remember exactly but i think the fix was to bridge blue and white in the switch block? Check the KV or some one will wander along who knows. I changed the globes to 55watt +50's. Phillips in my case. Though all the major manufacturers have their version. They come in a few different tints, my globes are noticeably blue, but shine clear white when in use. Cost several times more than stock globes. Does not appear to have degraded wiring or housings, I do a lot of night running. Makes a massive difference throws a long clear white beam. Keeps me clear of all the kangawallabats on the road  Oh yeah if anyone has a solution for unobtrusive driving lights, pls let a bloke know. |
