Just wondering guys, If one has say one of these translucent covers, in any of the colors lets say.... With Scratches can one buff them out etc. and return to the clear see through ,Or will they not buff out??? 2nd ? similar to first, what if one can feel the scratches with your finger nail, then would this be too much to buff out, or ?? Anyone with experience doing so.... Thanks |

They buff pretty good, it's just time consuming. For spilled gas frosting, Novus 3, 2, then 1 will do it. For scratches, you may need sandpaper before going to the Novus. Its hard to get right up to corners of raised logos and stuff, but the rest can look pretty good. |

I believe so. Never tried any that deep on my translucid blue, just frosting. But I did recover some fairly deep ones on my Uly (solid orange) using the approach described, and it ended up remarkably good. I just left some of the deepest scratches and polished around them and they look good. Try it somewhere covered by the seat first.. |

Scratches can be taken out by wet-sanding them out with 1000 grit and then buff. Just like wet sanding and buffing paint. If it's a deep scratch, start with heavier grit and work your way finer, then buff. Don't spill gas on it at all costs! if the gas hits the edge of the plastic, it could very well cause many little cracks in a matter of seconds, looks like shit. |
