I know that the motor in the Buell is noisy. But I feel like mine has more "knock" at idle than others. The knock goes away as soon as I touch the throttle, so I don't think it's anything serious. Sounds pretty normal to me. Try pulling the exhaust valve cable, under the air cleaner cover and see if the noise changes. NOTE: Do not move the exhaust actuator cam by hand, it can damage the gear drive inside. |

Teeps: My exhaust valve actuator is completely removed, along with the cables. The bike has a drummer on it (with a quiet cap in the tip). So you guys have a bit of a light "knock" at idle too? |

A good trick is to hold a towel over the exhaust outlet. You can hold it there just long enough to quiet the exhaust noise and hear any engine sounds. |
