I've just gone past the 500 mile running in period on my CityX. So I'm starting to hit the corners with a (a-hem) bit more enthusiasm. The back end seems a tiny bit loose when I do this and at one point, the back tried to overtake the front. Not fun at all. I wasn't going more than 65 mph in the curve when it happened and for me to take it at 65 means it wasn't all that great of a curve. (I ain't too good) The surface was older asphalt and there wasn't anything like diesel or oil on the surface to cause the problem. Are the CityX tyres a harder compound? Could that be the reason for the instability I'm feeling? Could there still be mold release on a tyre after 600 miles? There was still about an 1-1/4" wide chicken stripe on the outer edges of the tyre when it went around and I was leaned over a bit further that I had been doing during the running in period. Advice? Have you setup the suspension per the manual (at least?) Also, if you've got dem clucky-strips, there's still mold release on the edges and if you're leaning over...1 1/4" is enough that if you're on the lip it's gonna slip...  Keep leaning...see what happens! J/K Chris | ||
