Or do I need to slot a 1/2" deep socket? Thanks all! |

Haven't changed an ETS on an XB yet, but if it is anything like the available clearance in an X-1, the answer is no re the crows foot. Just get an elcheapo 1/2in deep socket and slot it. Or get one from Al at American Sport Bike when you get the temp sensor. Hope this helps, Dave |

Ur gonna need a slotted 1/2 in socket. Cheapest way is to get a cheap one from auto zone for 2 bucks and cut out the groove urself. |

Make sure there are no sharp edges left from the slotting operation that could damage the insulation on the wire. Keith |

Like this: From Jegs - but every tool shop sells similar sockets for oxygen sensors - less than $15 |

I used a crow's foot for my 2008 Ulysses. Here is what I used: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0074HNLQM/ref=oh _details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The sensor was 7/8" on my XB12X. I just noticed you said engine temperature sensor and I was talking about an oxygen sensor. Regardless the crow's foot did the job. (Message edited by lyonne on August 11, 2013) |

Thanks for the advice all! I bought a 1/2" deep socket from Autozone for $4, and I'm going to dremel and file a slot into it. When I'm in there I will see if a crow's foot would work as well, and post here. Just in case anyone else was wondering. |

A crows foot won't work, the sensor is slightly recessed. |
