Opinions wanted,
my 2005 XB12scg pings a lot once warmed up, in Tucson commute driving in 100 degree weather I can't open the throttle more than 1/3 without pinging. I have heard good things about the EBR ecm mapped for my bike, open airbox and drummer exhaust. But it is 305 dollars and I still would have to pay for the TPS reset. Should I just get the race ecm already installed dyno tuned? Not sure how much they would charge, will find out tomorrow...local shop that tunes privateer race bikes and street bikes.

I think I would do a little manual tuning with ECM Spy or TunerPro RT and just look at the fuel and see if there is an abnormal lean area or if the timing it too far advanced. I think I might also buy a top end gasket kit and have a look inside, you might have a carbon buildup or a bunch of sharp edges around the valves causing hot spots.

I would check your static timing before doing anything, if you are pinging that much there is a possibility that it is way too far advanced.

What Froggy said. I don't know anyone who has bought the EBR ECM and has been unhappy, but if your static timing is wrong, no ECM will fix it.

Setting the timing is not difficult. Just listen for the fuel pump to turn on.

Local shop will need ECM-Spy and know how to use it to do tune. If they have it I can walk them through it. Or you as well if you have it. 7o7 54eight 79o6
