There are three wires plus a ground at the harness. In order to remove it and keep the engine light from turning on does anyone know how to do that?
Are there certain pins that need to be shorted? Should there be a resister placed between pins X & Y?
Anything like that?
I have a race ECM but no way of getting into to change the setting. Unless there is someone in the Jersey, Philly, NY area that would be able to help.

Thank you.

The race ECMs will not throw a code if the actuator is disconnected.

I had read somewhere (American sportsbike I think) that you would need to go in and change the setting to let it know that you have disconnected the actuator.
That would be great if it just worked like that.
I won't know until I put the new harness in and am able to turn it on.
Thank you!

Yep that only applies to the stock ECM.

The Buell P&A Race ECM comes with programming for the Buell Race Exhaust, which does not have the valve, so the ECM has the setting turned off.

The EBR Race ECM has several different programmings depending on which exhaust you have, but they all have the error code disabled so you won't get a check engine light for not having the actuator hooked up. The one for the stock exhaust will still actuate the valve, but will not throw a code if you disconnect it.

When my exhaust servo bit the dust, I used TunerPro RT on my stock ECM to turn off the check engine light for the exhaust servo codes. Check engine light still works for everything else. Tied off the exhaust valve in the open position and ride. It's been that way for several thousand miles without a problem.
