Hi.
Just bought an XB9SX. Had it for 2 weeks so far.

It's got 484 miles on it and has that been a trial. 3000 rpm rev limit is killing me but that will very soon be over.
I used to have a 97 S3T. Nice bike, baaad seat.
Crappy saddlebags. Wonderful bike.
I can see that nothings changed in the seating department because the standard XB9S seat I'm using is very painful to sit on after 40 miles or so. The XB9SX seat that came on the bike is so tall I couldn't get the bike off the sidestand.
Who designs Buells seats? The Marquise de Sod?
I've got a Corbin seat ordered but they're telling me 6 weeks. Jeebus, doesn't anybody keep items in stock anymore?
So, My name's Bob. I live in Jackson, MS and I'm uhh, 49 years old.
I had a HD Road King before but sold it to buy the XB. Good decision. I caught myself grinning like a madman a few times on the Buell so far and I never did that on the Harley.

Ride Safe,
Bob

Bob, dont forget that it usually takes a few thousand miles to break in a new seat, they feel better after that.
Oh and spend more time on it after a while your butt gets tougher.

Hi Bob!

I'm from Jackson too! I live in Brooklyn New York now, but I lived most of my life in the Magnolia State.
I don't own a Buell but have wanted one for years and lurk here a lot.
How's life down there? I haven't been home since Christmas. Did you buy your bike from Capital Harley or whoever they are off of I-55? How was that experience?

Enjoy the ride!

Dhutty:
Life in MS is effing stupid in too many ways to list. The dealer here is HD of Central MS. They're real happy to sell you a...
Harley. There's tons of Buells on the floor, the oldest unsold Buell is a 98 S3. The sales force is not Buell fluent and don't look to change things any time soon. They still have 3 of the Buell jackets with the S2 on them.

Peejay:
Had I wanted a 12, I would have gotten a 12. The 9 will become a 12 soon enough. I just won't be paying the 12s insurance premium. ;p

Nedwreck: "HD of Central MS" is that the one listed in Jackson (whom i've a had a little dealings with and found them unhelpful) or "Chunky River Harley" which is over in Meridan, never dealt with them.
I wonder how little they'd take for an unsold 98 S3. There's a dealer up here on Long Island that has an unsold S3, but they don't seem motivated to move it.
Are you from Mississippi or did you move there?

Dhutty,

Somehow I had displeased my maker when I was a 3 year old living in St. Louis back in 1958 and he damned me to Jackson, MS. for all eternity.
