Hey guys, Can anyone please reccomend a safe cleaner to remove oil sweat from around my primary and head gaskets? Water/soap does not get this off....As well, a good cleaner for removing all the crud that accumulates on the front lip right behind my front wheel.... Help is appreciated.. Jack | ||

You could try a citris cleaner in the spray bottle. There are a few different brands. | ||

I use a cheap generic citrus spray cleaner from the grocery store. Warm engine, quick wipe or rinse - easy. | ||

Your'e talking about the dirty water mark type stuff right? No matter what i tryed i couldnt get rid of it. Untill i tryed WD40.Spray some on a rag and wipe it on the case n wala its gone. Probably the only actual usefull information ive ever got from squid. | ||

Honda brite won't take the oil that seep's out past the gaskets though.But Honda's contact Fluid will instantly. | ||

i've been using S100 for years... it's a concentrated cleaner/degreaser... it takes everything off (including the finish on the primary cover, if you're not careful!) try it. you'll like it. ...c | ||

I tried simple green, dilluted as per their instructions, and it did not work. Like StoneCold I was using WD40. Later, I tried undilluted simple green. I would squirt it on, let it sit for 30 seconds or so, hit it with an old tooth brush, then immidiately hose it off. It worked like a champ. (Message edited by reepicheep on August 19, 2004) |
