Here's my story--
I bought an '05 CityX in spring of '07. I ended up trading it for an '08 1125r. Spring of '11 I added a new Triumph Bonneville to the stable. Rode the hell out of that thing. Anyway, this year I got into circle track racing, on dirt, with a gsx-r 750 powered Dwarf car. Getting everything set up for racing this year was a big drain on $ and time, so I ended up selling both bikes.

I'm thinking (and hoping) that I'll be able to pull a few grand together and get another bike. I don't want a payment, so the $3000 range will be about what I'm thinking I'll have. My original thought was get another Bonnie, but finances will prevent that. Then I started getting nostalgic for the cityX. Looks like I should be able to find a decent one in that price range.

My question is how are the '05's holding up? Are parts still accessible? Any info will be appreciated.

I don't know if you can get an XB for 3K except for a 2003 seems like they are at to bottom of the price ladder. Now you can get a tuber for that almost anywhere in the country. My personal opinion is in the long run tubers will be easier to keep going because more Sportster parts were used.

I've seen a few '05 cityx in the $3k range, but good point about the tubers. I've never owned one, the cityX is the first Buell that caught my eye.

Between American Sport Bike and Twin Motorcycles (http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl) parts for any Buell will be pretty easy.
Get the Buell that moves you, and jump back in.
You should be able to find a pretty nice bike for around 3K, Tuber or XB.
I think the Ulys are the more expensive of all the Buells right now.
Sorry you had to get rid of the Bonnie, I know how much you liked and rode that bike.

You're right Glitch, I did love that little thing. It didn't do anything great, but did everything good. But I just wasn't riding much and making a payment on a garage piece isn't worth it to me. It went to a good home, a kid right out of the Navy. He put 2000 miles on it in a little over month last I heard from him. That's why I wanna find something that I can pay cash for, so if it sits or just goes back and fourth to work I won't feel so bad.

The cityX listed in the classified section here is exactly what I'd want, just don't have the $ yet.
