Yep, connect it to the bearing, heat the rim, suspend the rim from the slide hammer, tap, tap, tap, rim drops onto carpet minus 1 bearing. | ||

I have used the Harley tool on a Harley rear wheel and it worked real well. It's worth the extra $20. | ||

I bought one of those harborfreight puller sets for removing the cam bearings from my '79 sportster. It "worked". Just about destroyed it to remove four AMF-period bearings. But it did work. I wouldn't think that the little hand grenade sized hammer would have enough mass to pull out a larger bearing. | ||

I've use the HF model to remove numerous wheel bearings with no problems at all (5 wheels to be exact). Just make sure to get the arbor tight and all is well. |
