Went to start the Uly for an after work therapeutic cool weather ride. No go. Ignition and main fuse look good. Starter relay clicks, but no volts at the starter solenoid. Swapped starter relay with Aux relay -- same thing.

Consulted the Electrical Diagnostic Manual, and the troubleshooting flowchart points to a broken/bad wire from relay to solenoid. Panic and dread began to set in, as I contemplated a winter of sorting electrical gremlins.

Googled BadWeb with various keywords, and noticed Jraice's happy ending: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/679524.html?1337215737

A faint hope stirred in my soul, and I went back out. Key on -- no headlight. Check headlight fuse -- burnt out. Replace fuse -- all good!

It's too late for a ride now, but I'm sure happy. I was resigned to winterising the bike early in order to sort this out.

Even though the wiring schematic shows the headlight circuit being integral, you'd think the troubleshooting flowchart would make mention to check the headlight fuse.

Thank you BadWeb community!

I had a similar problem. My relay clicks but no start. Now everytime I start I have to take the cover off and jiggle the relay around till it works. It pisses me off sooooo bad. Bought a new relay comes tomorrow hopefully this will fix my problem and it's not the connector piece. Wish me luck

I recently had a annoyance where my starter solenoid (at least that's what it sounded like --- maybe it was the relay?) anyway, it would click loudly several times before the engine would turn over when I was starting my '07 Uly. I assumed my battery was getting weak, so I went to Autozone had it checked with one of their electronic gizmos, and they said yes I need a new battery.

Two days ago I had a ground wire break up by the steering head that made my headlights quit working. I repaired the ground and the click went away... weird.
