Mechanic says I need a stator and none of the dealers have one. Bike's not charging. Xb9sx.

If anybody has any ideas or contacts, let me know. I was going to try to get back to Seattle by Sunday. I didn't see anything on craigslist.

Thanks
Jim

Thanks guys. I was hoping to find something in the Washington or oregon areas. None of the dealers had any and I have been combing craigslist and salvage yards looking for something used that will get me back to Seattle. I have two friends from the Seattle area that could pick the p.art up if I was able to locate it.

I'm probably going to rent u-haul and truck it back up tomorrow unless a miracle comes through.

Are you sure it is the Stator? Charging difficulties are often traced to connector 77. (mine included) The repair of that connection was a whole lot easier than changing the Stator. My bike is all better after changing the connector from the Voltage Regulator to the Battery. The symptom was very similar to a bad Stator.. but it wasn't that at all.

Thanks for the heads up on the 77 pin. I'm waiting for the shop to open up this morning and will check it out.

It would be great if that's all it is.
