I used 5/16th threaded rod and 2 sizes of rubber tubing,a small diameter one over the rod and a bigger diameter over that inside the axle so it doesn't move but if ever in a slide id think it would give just a little to get a better angle on the slider itself.

Donnie; that's a nice idea. How much would you guess the whole assembly weighs?

sorry its been a while since I posted I got the part # for Black, White and pretty aluminum spool and non-spool.Drill and tap the 5/16 threaded rod to fit into the slider can use a couple styles mine are for fzr600 89-94.Can use gsxr style Lockhart Phillips and one other brand.Going riding in the mountains sunday to get more knee dragging time.Monday I'll list part # I already have a patten on two styles don't want to step on anyones feet if they want to sell for profit I made mine in early november 2002.I had thought about marketing them but would be happy to help any Bueller- Bad weather biker to make them... also have made one set of frame sliders, needs a little more R and D time to improve quality. The frame pucks are great for the price stick them on and go.

Michael,
Anyone wishing to sell and/or advertise here, must first become a sponsor. There can be no exceptions. Your offer to provide plans for and to advise others on how to fabricate their own sliders is perfectly fine; but the sales and marketing portion of your post was not and so has been deleted.

Thank you for understanding.

I had some titanium round stock left over so I turned the ends down to fit inside the axle, blind tapped them 1/2-13 and connected them with a threaded rod. Piece of cake. You could use anything from plastic to stainless steel to make them.

Aren't you afraid that that Titanium will grip the road if it goes down and cause it to flip instead of slide? JUst a thought.

Looks pretty trick.

Black_s - You may have a point but I really don't know for sure. I was more afraid that the titanium might not absorb the crash energy by grinding away like plastic therefor imparting more energy to the frame. Titanium is a bit softer and more "gummy" than alot of other high strength materials so it seems like it might do the job. I hope I never have to find out..... I've got titanium bar ends too.

Boulder - Sorry man, I just can't help myself.

Oh yeah I almost forgot - God forbid I should ever go down at speed, there will be some pretty cool white sparks flying!

Jersey....the sparks would be cool only not in a crash. Put some Ti knee pucks on your leathers, that'll do the trick.

Black_s - You aren't going to believe this but I got to test the sliders yesterday, swear to God. My buddy said it was a shower of white sparks! I'm going to make another thread about it.
