ok back story, bike acted like she was out of gas, had it taken to a hd shop(customize r).
He declared bad injectors so I had him replace both, I supplied the parts.he said bike runs great. I go to pick it up and he say she runs like crap, may be the cpu needs to relearn, ok .
she rides but had huge dead spot at 3500 rpms
So i try and do a tps reset via ecmspy i watched the video on xb 10 times before I did it now she runs like ASS she bucks and dies at 3k rpms and wont idle at all.
So what did I F up? how do I fix?
06 xb9sx k&n filter breather reroute and thats it 16k for miles new plugs belt oil at 15k.

Could be the pressure regulator in the pump.

do I have to buy the whole fuel pump Assembly or just a regulator? can you provide a part number?

Don't trow parts at it. There are a lot of parts. It'll get you broke fast.

You can measure the pressure in the line like the manual says.

I really hope that other shop didn't mess up your bike further.

I did a tps reset on mine recently. Watched the vid several times, read the directions over and over. I still didn't get it right until I realized 2 things;
1- a tps reset has little to do with idle speed. All it does is tell the ecm the exact position of fully closed throttle. The ecm won't work correctly without correct information.
2- the engine must be fully warmed up even if you have to reset the tps again. Correct information again.

Is it possible you need to do it one more time?

Turn the idle screw all the way out before you do the TPS reset. That is such a simple step I forget it, and it screws things up royally as a result.

Is there a stop that prevents it from completely unscrewing from the throttle body? I just unscrew it until the TPS reading stops dropping, then go a couple more turns. No point in having someone actually get it removed from the throttle body.

Also make sure the throttle plate gets snapped completely shut. Let is snap shut a few times to make sure it isn't getting hung up on any gunk build up. It's also "possible" to have the idle cable not let it go all the way to zero. Make sure there's enough slack in the cable.

One tip I picked up here about TPS resets when working on my X-1 is to back out the idle screw as mentioned above, then gently close the throttle, and open it. If the idle screw is backed out enough, you will feel the throttle plate 'stick' just a touch as it starts to open. If so. you have cleaned any gunk build up, and you know the throttle plate is closing completely.
