Hey guys. So, just this week, I picked up this 2006 Uly in a trade. I rode it home a few hundred miles... and it's just not clicking for me. Mostly, I think my objection is that it's bolt upright (very VStrom-like position) and I'm looking for something more aggressive.

I literally bought this bike last week, so I only put a few hundred miles on it. It has 19k miles. It is in amazing condition. To give you an idea of the kind of care it was under, I asked the last owner how it did on gravel, and he told me he didn't ride much gravel because it's too much work to wash the bike after. It has every original fastener and other than a few scuffs on some dark plastic, has no scratches or damage.

Bike has full OEM luggage and comes with a service manual. Also, I'm a big fan of the backrest that turns into a luggage rack.

Bike just had an oil change (motor and primary) and has two new tires on it this spring!

The following upgrades/service have been done:
-Rear wheel bearings upgraded to latest ones.
-Preemptively upgraded ECM mount under the seat (common problem with the seat pushing on it and the connector failing).
-Belt upgraded to latest one (old belt with little wear included as a spare).
-Front forks rebuilt with new seals and oil.
-Buell Comfort Kit (funnels air toward the rear cylinder and heat away from the rider).
-New brake pads that are supposed to prevent pulsing from the front rotor.
-K&N Air Filter.

Someone needs to buy this beauty before I get it ugly and dirty.

I'm asking $4800, and I'm always looking for toys to trade for. Right now an older sportbike for track duty sounds most appealing, or maybe a lightweight dirt bike, but other offers will be considered.

Bike is located in Cedar Rapids, IA. Free delivery to anywhere between Cedar Rapids and Chicago, anywhere else we'll have to work something out.

My bad, didn't realize there was a for sale forum. I'll post this up there and I understand if it gets deleted from there.

Thanks for letting me know.

Ride it while you have it. They grow on you.

Lower bars and higher pegs make all the difference in the world.

Maybe you wanna trade for an '07 Super TT with only 6500 miles on it? An inch lower suspension, shorter bars and a slightly more aggressive foot peg location. I've had ads up for it intermittently. Problem I've had with selling it is interested parties have been so far away, and I really am just wanting a bike my daughter can sit safely on the back of, the Uly would be a lot better fit than the TT.

I think a ride to Iowa might be fun, haven't been there since '09. Usedta live in C.R. back in '93

With the luggage handles and the backrest there should be no way a passenger could fall off unless the driver did something really stupid and then both would be hitting the ground.

Bummer for me.

Congrats on the "new" bike Vandim. I noticed you had some interest in it through the for sale section.

damn man, I could've given you the parts to get the look and feel you want. I've got at least one of every front except the 1125 R

I'm on the opposite side of the state though.
