Do you have to take your xb in for scheduled service to keep your warranty valid? If not do any of you know how to check the bike out? I have always done my own bike work unless I just get stumped. When I had my GSXR I tuned and synchroed my carbs myself because I found that dealers would just get it sort of right. The only thing that I am not sure about on the xb is the fuel injection. Does anyone know how to do the TPS reset themselves and what it entails? Has anyone purchased a service manual?

You do not need to take it to a dealer for anything except to get the TPS reset. Do your own oil changes & keep the receipts & document the date & mileage.

The service manual says that if you do do your own maint. you must keep receipts and records as Dyna stated. I bought a 2" binder and some document protectors and keep all my receipts and write down what I did on what date. TPS is dealer only unless you have big cash for some electronics...........

Look in the archives under TPS reset I think. Someone linked a site that had a electronic device that was pretty spendy, I think in the thousands.........

I would suggest getting the service manual and associated parts manual if you plan on doing anything yourself. He}}, even if your not, the parts manual has great illustrations that help you see what it is and where it goes, so if your having it serviced, you can at least have an idea of what is being worked on.

Yes. The service manual is a great investment. I know it sounds expensive but it will save you $$$ in the long run. Plus there's alot of info that you can't find anywhere else in there.

Talk to Daves, 920.757.1651, or any of the other badweb sponsors. They'll help you out.
