Two weeks til my first camera equipped track day. My helmet side mount angle on the street didn't have a great sense of speed or lean. Looking for ideas on bike mounting. I'm thinking the curved sticky mount would be solid enough on side of frame. | ||

I think you're on the right track by mounting it to your body somewhere. If mounted directly to the bike, you run into vibes and odd harmonics. It may be more fun to watch if you aim it behind you. | ||

I've found the best place to mount is on my chest. I made my own from the holder that originally came with the cam holding it in place in the box. That and some straps. Basically it was free. You can also buy one for around 30.00. Mounting it to the bike is possible but I got a bad jello rolling effect when I tried it. Helmet mount is ok, as long as you keep your head straight and aren't swiveling around to look at things. Use your imagination and come up with some ideas. People are mounting them low to get some pretty cool angles. It's coming up with the mounts that are stable that's the problem. Oh yeah...editing is pretty time consuming too. |
