cruising along at 75-80 and whamo no power. i mean no guages, no motor.(this is the pucker moment) so i grab a handful of throttle look down to make sure i did not accidently hit the off switch. ( i didn't). pulled over, popped the seat and start checking fuses. still nothing. battery cables and ground are tight. i know the battery is god because my phone charger is working when i called for a tow. while i am waiting i wiggle/check fuses again and try to start and she come to life. on to work i go,
later on i check again and she still starts but i check/wiggle fuses again and after will not start.
by shear luck i wiggle the ignition fuse and had i not been looking right at it i would not have seen the little white spark of the fuse popping. so it turned out to be the ignition fuse had popped. i am thinking that was my initial problem and when i initially wiggled the fuse it somehow made the connection in the fuse enough to start the bike and later on when i wiggled the fuse again and saw the white spark it popped it again.
but my underlying thought is what may have caused the fuse to pop in the first place?

Common chafe points are around the steering head where it goes under the frame, under the seat around the ECM, and down by the front drive pulley.
