hey guys did a oil change in the weekend on my xb9r (2000 miles) and there was a fair bit of gritty metal stuff stuck to the magnetic sump bolt. i know its there to do this but what is a normal amount? when is it a cause for concern?

cheers

It will probably look like that for a while, until your engine gets really broken-in. As long as you don't see big chunks appearing all of the sudden, I wouldn't worry. There should be a little pile on the magnet. Don't know how much you had, but if it looked like a huge ball of the stuff, I might be a little bit concerned. If it was your trans oil then it will have more than the engine. It takes a long while to polish up the gears and stuff in the trans.
