Any given rice rocket shop will have a good selection of bar ends. I paid less than $10 for my bar sliders (not weighted).

If you want weight...buy a set of kellerman bar end turnsignals. If you want a bar end that will fit, www.denniskirk.com or any PArts Unlimited distributor. The $9.99 K&S are the most common and fit the XB bars very well.

You could also get the ThrottleMiester -- combo weighted bar ends AND cruise control...

Bluey idea is a good one, I have seen those bar end locks & they seem pretty heavy. Might be just the ticket to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

AH yes, the Barender...also known in these parts as the helmet-tender -- it serves up helmets to thieves in no time flat.

I personally know three people in SoCal who have use these only to have the thief simply cut the strap to the $600 helmet. It's only $30 to get a replacement strap...low investment on the thief's behalf.

It's certainly better than just leaving it on the mirror or rear peg, but I just carry mine...the inconvenience far outweighs losing a $600 investment and not being able to ride (this is California, after all.)

YMMV. I vote for the Throttlemeister...almost the same shape/look AND you get cruise control.

Helmet Lock:
I use a gun lock available at any sporting goods store for about $10.

Place helmet on the passenger peg, thread cable between the "V" on the peg bracket, and through the visor of the helmet.

Not that I doubt your experience Barkandbite, but I do have a hard time believing there is actually a market for USED HELMETS! Man, who buys those things...

Not that my helmet was stolen from my motorcycle, but it *was* stolen when I went karting in Vegas...I was reunited with back in SoCal when the moron decided to come to a karting event at my home track...

...ask the I caught at the local track who stole my helmet in Vegas what the market is for "used" $600 Arai's -- I waited until he took it off before I introduced him to the physics behind why it's important to keep it on.

How'd I know it was mine you ask? It had my friggin' name painted on it!

Unbelievable chance...and a very small world.

Nice thing was he put an iridium shield on it and brand new cheek pads.

Go figure.

I maintain that I am neither a vindictive or a violent person. However, if one happens to take something of mine without asking, I tend to get a little upset.

Without implicating myself, allow me to suggest that I have never been more proud of my ability to 'get medieval' on someone...

He stole my helmet and Darwin was kind enough to return it to me, with him as the parting gift. Here's to the chlorination of the gene pool.

Once he came to, he picked himself up, packed up his crap and drove home. I think someone filled him in on who I was when he stopped bleeding.

How often does that happen? Once.

Be careful with your stuff. Take it with you if you can. Else, be prepared to lose it to some dimwit with a bowie knife and no respect.

Ride safe.
