CP took forever to make them but now that I have them I can assemble the motor. They have a 2cc dome that puts the static compression ratio at 9.0:1 with the 70.5cc combustion chambers and 0.040" head gaskets.

I have made a few changes to the build plans. I will be fabbing up a new header to improve the efficiency of the exhaust system before the turbo. The primaries will come to a collector right behind the cam position sensor and route straight down to the turbine inlet. It will help to reduce spool time and make lots of room for a larger air intake at the front of the turbo. The new header will be equipped with EGT thermocouples for each head and no O2 sensor port. I will use the EGTs to tune the individual cylinders and a combined wideband O2 reading from after the turbo for the overall A/F ratio. That is the best way to properly tune individual cylinders with a turbo.

Is that some kind of super slide material on the skirts or is it a hard cold anodize for durability?

Is that actually copper plating for heat or just some other kind of heat protection?

I'm still surprised they don't anodize everything but there must be some kind of reason.

2kx1- I am doing most of the work. About the only things I haven't done is any welding or the specialized machine work for the valves and cylinder honing. A friend of mine is an amazing tig welder and has lots of experience with harley style engines and has provided me with perfection every time! I can't ask for better than that: )

Greg- The tops of the pistons are coated with a thermal barrier coating to help lower the piston temps and the skirts have a low friction ptfe coating. I have seen anodized piston finishes but, as far as I understand, these coatings provide more benefit than other surface treatments for my application.
