So I am at a loss... My '07 XB12S is pushing 5,000 RPMs at 70mph, when it should only be around 3,500. and I have no idea what the problem is.

Anyone have any ideas?

Clutch slipping? In 4th gear instead of 5th?

If you go to WOT, do the RPMs climb rapidly (outpacing the speed)? If so, your clutch is slipping and you either need to replace it or get the auto oil out of your primary.

It should be pretty obvious if it's slipping.

Alternately, bad tach? Bad speedo?

Belt with half the teeth missing?
