Im looking to sell my '07 xb12r, 3300kms to put towards a new Road Glide, and someone told me the other day to hold on to it, with such low mileage it might be a collectors item some day. Whats the general consensus on here, are these going to go up or down in value as they age?

Totally worthless motorcycles. But, you're lucky - I'm willing to pay you *$500* for it!

: )

I don't think anyone knows. It'll depend on parts, on how EBR does, on the whims of motorcycling. I expect, at some point, they'll be considered "classics" and in some amount of demand. I also think that the 30 years of sitting required for that is going to be hell on them.

I think they'll definitely keep going down in value short term. Long term... I really have no idea (and if I did, I'd be using said idea to prepare myself for retirement...)

That said, the worst thing for a motorcycle is being ridden very short distances, followed closely by sitting. If you're not going to ride it, I'd sell it.

If you *are* going to keep it, look into long term winterization (or "pickling") - if you do it right, you can keep a vehicle in good condition for a very long time with a little bit of work. If you just park it & let it sit, you'll hate yourself down the road (or, more likely, someone else will hate you).

I've got 3 Buells - an 1125R, an XB9SX, and a Blast. I plan to ride them as much as possible while I can, accepting that parts will likely become more difficult to find at some point. Hopefully by then, EBR will have some shiny new stuff out. I have no desire to "save them" given the uncertainty - I plan to ride the wheels off them. : )
