Does anyone know where I can get the real electronic version of the service manual for the 2003 XB9R? I have the printed version, but it would be nice to have the electronic version on my tablet. I've found all sorts of scans on the web, and pretty much they all suck which leaves me to ask for the real thing or to sit down, bust my manual apart, and scan it.

The only good electronics version is for the 2005 Firebolt

Interesting . . . this case of "Official Buell Service Manual" CD's that Harley-Davidson sent . . but have been pirated.

: )

Is there a part number for the 2003 disk?

I bought both the service manual and the parts manual (print only) for every Buell I have owned.

Annoying that I can't also get an electronic copy for my Kindle, so I could carry them while I am on the road.

I have the print 2003 manual.

I have the pdf 2003 parts manual and the 2005 manual on my phone and a flash drive.

The parts manual is used to print out pages when I go to the shop. It really cuts down on my time there and helps us both out.

The pdf service manual is only good for the basic stuff. It will help somewhat if you're broken down and an unfamiliar shop has to try something.

There's enough difference between models that you're better of having the real paper one at home.

I'm comfortable with the moral issues that will come up real soon.

Here is one of those moral issues... There is a place on the web that will sell a download of the PDF service manual. I had them extract a few pages so I could compare to the scans that are widely available and these pages are nice clear line drawings with links back and forth to the main index... Upon checking a little bit they are in Thailand so I have a feeling this will either be the export version of the cycle, or it will be an illegal copy that someone is making money from selling.

Again, if there is a part number for the real thing I'll just order it from my local dealer or one of the online dealers.

That's not a moral issue, that's a consumer issue.

Go with what Court indicated. There has never been an official release of a Buell pdf manual anything. Anybody that is trying to sell you one is being dishonest right up front. If they see you coming, they will take your money. (If you want to send your money away for nothing at all, I have a paypal account.)

That being said, there are a few official manuals that have somehow ended up on the net. They are free to download. They are not hard to find. The mods have made it clear that the download information is not to be posted. I respect that, it's their house.

I down loaded a manual for my XB as the guy I bought it from didn't have one. Paid 8 bucks I think, don't know if it was legit or pirated, didn't think to check. I would gladly have paid HD or Buell instead but they didn't offer that and I needed the info. Consumer demand I guess....

I had the bootleg PDF. It worked, but PITA. Bought the 2003 service manual and never went back!

Although the "search" feature in my PDF viewer was very helpful.

There is a website that sells every PDF Buell manual for $7.50 each. I downloaded both the 2006 Firebolt and the 2009 XB manual and they are legit manuals. It was an overseas website so I assume they are bootleg HD PDF's.
