I need a primary cover for my XB ASAP, does anyone have an extra hanging around?
If I can spend some $$$$ with someone on the board, that'd be better than chasing one on ebay.

I had some problems with the clutch adjuster and it ate up the cover, I'll post some pics tomorrow.

The lip the ball ramp mechanism rides on broke off, also the edges of the clutch basket got a little rounded, but I think that it will survive for now.
It may be self inflicted, I goofed up on the clutch adjustment once and I think this could be a result of that. Unless this is a common problem, anyone else ran into it and have an explanation?
I'm not sure what rubbed on the clutch basket, I couldn't find anything really worn to match it. It may have been the back of the ball ramp, it's pretty hard metal and only has a minimal rub marks.

Same exact thing happened on my '09 12R. Not sure how or why either. I just ordered a new cover from American Sport Bike and good to go again, sort of. Lost my clutch inspection cover, lock plate & spring but that was self inflicted. Definitely learned my lesson and gonna use thread locker from now on! I'd like to know why that lip break as well, appears to be somewhat common.

I have the link saved at home, so I can't post it now, but search the KV. Someone fixed the broken lip with, I think, an electrical box cover, trimmed to suit.

I used a piece of .047 steel, and my cover still uses the stock clutch inspection cover bolts.
I believe this is caused by improper adjustment of the clutch. If there is not the right amount of play, when you pull the lever, the ball ramp gets pulled too far and puts excessive pressure on the lip. Thats how I broke mine.
The way I fixed it.......it will never happen again.

Here's a picture of my fix. It's not very professional, but it seems to work good. I've ridden it fifty miles and it does shift better than it ever has.

LOL! that's awesome.
Looks like my replacement horn mounting bracket.

Stick welder and a grinder, right?

Man, is it that bad? I used a little mig welder at my brother's work. Definately not a work of art like the other guys are making, but it got me back on the road and should be plenty durable.

There is definately an improvement in shift quality, which was my main complaint with the Buell.
