What the...? Just noticed the rear wheel bearings on my 12R are oozing grease onto the wheel. The color of these bearings? BLACK! I thought they had switched to the new orange ones long before my 12 was made, and never even looked at them. The bearings on the front are orange and are not leaking grease. Makes little sense to me, but if you took it for granted (like me) that your 12 had the new type, you should probably double-check your bike!

Yea mine are black, its booked in to get sorted, the rear has play in the wheel and when the bike was in the rain a few weeks ago I was getting lots of rusty water stuff coming out and spreading all over the bloody alloys!!
They are the recall ones, should be getting sorted this week.

I was under the impression that the recalled bearings were only the 2003 XB9R's, not any of the 12's. I could be mistaken.

I too was under the impression that the bearings were only on the 9s. I just dropped off the bike at the dealer and they TOO thought that only the 9s were affected. Yet those infamous bearings are pressed into my rear wheel and will be switched out on Thursday.

BTW something else strange is the newly-found courtesy at the dealership! Thank you Danny at Fort Myers HD for being friendly, polite, and taking my bike in on short notice!!

They must of put these bearings in at assembly.Cause the 12's aren't affected by recall. The orange ones are in mine.

You should at least have your dad take a look at em. Like was said earlier they should be orange not black.
