Hello to all!
I just purchased a 2007 Red Buell Firebolt XB9r with only 3,900 miles on it. I picked it up from a dealership in Florida for $4,300 and am really looking forward to taking it out for the first ride.
This is my first "personal" bike that I have purchased. I have ridden dirt bikes growing up and of course on the street. I have also ridden other people bikes, but never had my own, or ridden anything this powerful.
I have my license and took the class and feel very comfortable with riding, but I want to make sure to protect myself and my new baby "buell, no children involved".
I upgraded from an old HJC with no ventilation to the Icon Alliance Rat, and am looking at getting the Icon Overlord jacket with upgraded spine protector.

Now that I have given you a little background information I am looking for some advice. I need to track down a set of frame pucks, and was also interested in people's opinions on brands of axle/swingarm protectors. My buddy recommended Spiegler brand and they seem pretty nice. Also, if you have a favorite brand of gloves and boots.

Any other information, tips, hints, suggestions is always appreciated. Thanks!
New Firebolt

Welcome to the board.
Regardless of low mileage you probably should put new tires on it first. Just my opinion.

Check out knightdesignllc.com for sliders and other accessories. Very affordable and many colors and.. they are in the USA!

also check out americansportbike.com

Excellent choice, my friend. You might want to look into re-routing your crank-case breathers if that wasnt already done. The stock configuration routes them into your airbox which might lead to a soggy air filter over time (happened with mine). As with most minor operations on your Buell it is very simple. Learn how to maintain your bike on your own. Aside from saving you money - it might save your bike. Plenty of badweb members will tell you that Harley techs have been known to screw up a few Buells. Boliver offers good advice on the new rubbers. You now own one of the best handling motorcycles on the road and a good set of tires will maximize the handling experience. Get to know your bike well and become comfortable with it; then think about a new pipe for a much better sound and little extra 'ooomph' when you twist the throttle. This site contains anything and everything you will ever need to know about your new pride and joy, thanks to some very knowledgeable folks who have already helped me a ton. If your looking for new mods or gear, browse the classified section - I check it compulsively. Most of all - welcome to the madness that is Buell.

Welcome to the Buell world. I've only had mine for a year now and I can't believe I waited so long.
