I was wonder if anyone has taken the buell heated grips that are for the Ulysses and put them on a firebolt? Or a lightning? What sort of mods did you have to do? My hands will thank you for any help

They bolt right on if that XB is an 08 or newer. If you buy the kit from your favorite Buell dealer, it comes with instructions and everything you need to install them. There is an accessory jack under the flyscreen on all 08+ XB and 1125 bikes. If the XB is not an 08 or newer, you will have to get creative with getting power to it.

It's very doable as Froggy says, I just put a set on my 07 STT. All you have to do is get a hot wire from the battery up to the flyscreen and it's easy from there. Al at American Sportbike has a wiring diagram to do it with a relay located here http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5669.html click on the bar below the pic that says "view larger image" and it will pop up. It details mods to the grip kit harness that makes it pretty easy. Good luck

They can also be installed on '07 and older models.
I installed a set on my GF's 03 XB9SL. I can't remember what I tapped for power, but it was pretty easy if you are electrically inclined.

There might be another thread on this subject. My STT is an 07, the details are in the thread above.

The Buell kit, in addition to the integrated switch in the right pod, has the heater elements integrated with the grips. I opted to purchase the switch from American Sport Bike and wire it into a heating element applied under the grip. So when grips wear out I just replace them and don't loose my hand warmers.

Make sure you get the juice from an ignition switched source so you don't leave them on when the bike is off. I had the Buell ones on an 05 12R and took them off as they didn't do too much for me. I took them off my 09 Uly too. I have a pair of electric gloves that are 1000000000% better than the heated handgrips. I might have a pair left if you're interested let me know.

No belt, no frame pucks, now no heated grips? You sure don't like anything fun!

Hey Froggy, I got your message and will bring the grips with me to the show. I might not be able to get in as I will be driving the truck and may need to stay in it. I expect to be there in between 3:00 and 4:00 and will text you when I get there. If you are there before that look for a tall freak wearing a black leather with lots of black curly hair (looks like a cross between Alice Cooper Joey Ramone and Howard Stern). His name is Count, introduce yourself and tell him you need to see me (Tim) as I have something for you. He has 4 custom Triumphs in the show and his shops name is TT-Cycles he should be hanging around near them all day.

I like fun stuff but the heated grips seem to be nothing more than a waste of precious volts. The back of my fingers were always cold. The electric gloves effin' rule !
