I want to thank the BadWeb community. I am in the Navy, stationed on the USS George Washington in Japan. I usually spend my weekend duty days on BadWeb. I have to live vicariously through all of you that are on here. I couldn't bring my Lightning to Japan. I would never have been able to get it legal here. My '09 deployment to Iraq was easy; there wasn't any motorcycles there. Japan is a bit different. There are bikes everywhere here. Even a few Buells I've seen on base. I just want to say thank you all. You make my duty days stuck on the ship a bit more bearable.

Blake, yes Yokosuka. Lt, my favorite part was when we left port due to the earthquake. We were at sea for 30 days with no destination. We didn't even know when we would be back home. We finally pulled into Sasebo for a couple days, then went home. We were in the middle of our major maintenance period, so the whole ship was torn apart. The whole crew had to use the forward mess. The aft berthings were all torn apart. These are the events that make us men.

Yokosuka

Spent a little time there drinking with the squids when I was at Camp Fuji.
If you ever get the chance to climb the mountain, do it!
The view is amazing.
Go up in the Tokyo tower.
Party in Roppongi.
Go see everything you can... you may never get the chance to go back

Blake,i heard that she's being finally decommissioned in several yrs(when i lived up in WA,in Bremerton, several people i knew in the shipyard there told me that). And yes to the oldest nuke carrier(i can remember when i was stationed on her...the aft end of her would "shudder" when doing high speed jaunts).I know she's had several major reworks since then.It was really cool to watch the night ops.
Ghost rider 33,please do go and see everything that you can(as Wolfridgerider said)..you may never get to do a "do over" thing.Take pics as well.I never got that chance(one of those unfortunate timing things when i was on the Enterprise....no WestPac tour..had a big shopping list and a bigger"things to do and see"list.LT
