I am interested in using the noise abatement functionality of the DDFI-II ecm to serve as a on-boost timing retard.

From what I have read so far, the stock XB9 models use the noise abatement function to retard ignition timing during certain running conditions that are defined by measured RPM, throttle position, and vehicle speed. I want to replace the signal from the VSS with the signal from my electronic boost controller to the wastegate solenoid. I can taylor the signal from the EBC to the ECM so that it mimics the signal the ecm would see from the VSS.

I would then be able to modify the ignition retard so that it works only for a certain range of wastegate solenoid cycles i.e. boost pressures.

Has anyone played with the noise abatement ecm values? I know most just disconnect the white wire--"white wire mod". The mapping makes it look like you can correlate RPM and VSS so the ECM knows what gear is selected. Does the noise abatement only activate during certain gears? I don't see any data in the eeprom that would define that. It's not clear where the actual ignition timing is modified and by how much. I see a table that references the rpm axis or "the two RPM hysteresis lists". I don't know how the latter is relative.

Eric it's there.

shoot me your email addy and I'll shoot you a nice little bird's file.

These sheets have what you are after. the function is only see able in Tunerpro. you may need to modify your ADX and xdf to do the task which is very simple.

you have Microsoft Access? If not it will open in Libre office and Openoffice as well.

It would be cool if you could use that function to retard timing when injecting Nitrous Oxide . It would save a lot of time and complications setting up N2o , not to mention save your motor . Let us know when you get it figured out Ericz .

That would be great. But it is like you are speaking Greek. Modify your ADX and xdf??? Libre Office and Open Office

dont feel bad, I see English (greek) on things as well.

Those other Office's types of programs like microsoft office (word- excel and access) but freeware with no keys needed.

Eric,

was that data what you needed? I never got a reply you got the files or needed more info...
