Yeah but you know that those companies could've got the power increase this year so they should upgrade everyones bikes for free every year.

Why does there have to be a performance upgrade? Because we want one? Hell thats what the aftermarket is for. I would rather wait a couple years for more power out of the engine then have them boost power each year. Then what was the point of buying my bike THIS year if I can get more power NEXT year. Nah, I think they did this right. but that is MY opinion and it goes nice with my ar5ehole : D

Wouldnt it be great to have the power & a warranty?

I will give you the warrenty part, but seriously, I can't see them giving us more then 2-5hp increase anyways so, no, I can get that on my own. I am realistic and didn't expect them to give us 100+hp at the wheel as a power increase this year. I personally would still like a 6speed but it isn't for top speed but more for an overdrive for highway cruising.

I agree, I don't feel that I need to trade in. Give me a couple years and they'll give me more power. If at that point there's more than just power I'll decide if I want to talk to Aaron or trade up. I think they did it right.

I would have liked to see an XB1350 but more for the prospective race teams than for me. I think that Buell will probably supply a bike with a 1350 in it for the racers for the right price anyway.

I still like my '03 XB9R and nothing in the new lineup is calling me to trade it in. I would like a "12" but I wouldn't expect them to give me too much in trade.

It's cool to see the variety in colors and the city version as well.

There are a few new, little Buell goodies that will thin out my wallet some this season.

Mike.

I love the XB, great chassis, some what easy to dial in. when it is, it carves. pretty good brakes and ergos. V-twin, air cooled=neat..I just would rather see more performance R&D put into the motor package, instead of "memoirs of the invisible body parts" and urban jungle hand protection guards.

someone clue me in on the hand guards and headlight brush guards!!!

In my humble opinion...
To sell this bike faster, they need to make it do 160 mph stock. Stunters will buy it, because it's got a short wheel base and a lot of low end torque. Yes this bike would eat most bikes in the curves, but you'll chasing tail down the front and back straight. Frick that! I want the best of both worlds. Speed and handling and I want it at stock bike prices, not after I have to put another 4K in after market parts. Now with that said.... if you do that, they would be more of them on the road. That's the one thing I love about the bike. When I roll up and park in Waikiki, everyone looks the same.. Japanese bike. Then they see the Buell..it stands out and lot of people want to know about the bike. Looks nice, handles nice, top speed..130 maybe 135, ummm no thanks. Oh well. It's not like I get to go that speed, but it would be nice to know, that if I had to, I could.

Give me 160MPH stock!!!!!!!!

More performance...you gotta wait until 2008.

Bad joke, but it rhymes. See 2006 Guess thread.

Uh, I'm not sure if you guys remember this, but Buell came out with a newer and more powerful motor last year.

Who's willing to bet the '05 R1 won't be any more powerful than the '04 R1?

If it isnt more powerful, then they might just find more ways to remove weight..free hp.

Just like they did on the '03 R1, right?

Guys, this is how the industry works. They come out with a new model, then they leave it alone for a little while. You can't expect major changes every year.

I dont think anyone expected..well maybe some did..major changes. But instead of offering items which could enhance the ride..ie race tunable exhausts, headers, cams, bigger bore FI units, etc. They got brush guards & see thru plastic.

Could you imagine the hwoling from the press if say Suzuki took their Gsxr1000 & the only upgrades they did were add a brush guard over the headlight & some goofy plastic?

Who exactly is the target audience for such a bike? It sure as hell isnt any of the present Buell owners I know. My grandson might think its cool, but then he's only 20 months old.

I bought a bike to ride too, but I don't like it when my buddies RC51 walks me out of corners, and keeps walking down the straights. 125 horsepower will do that . . . When I ride I want to ride with the same acceleration that the 1000cc japanese twins have. This is the closest thing America is making to a 999, and it ain't close. Ain't even close to the RC. More power isn't all about top speed. Just zipping from corner to corner cranking out big power is important too.

While I'm at it, I feel it's worth mentioning that I was very close to installing hand/brush guards on my M2 before I sold it.

I like the Mad Max look in a street bike. : )

This is what I expected they'd do....not to much but thats ok with me I'm not looking for a bike right now anyhow.Buell always seems to run a certain model for a X amount of years then we get a change. For instance 96-98 the S1 was avalible and not till 98 did they put a better set of heads on it.Then 99-02 X1 came out not to much changed on that model then in 03-present the XB 9 which is down to model that they don't offer the 9R any longer so that tells me it won't be around next year. Then 04-present the XB12.What I see is a pattern that there running the bikes 3-4yrs. then we see a big make over and a motor change.2007 to me will be the year to watch.

"Dyna..your right on, of course Honda, Kawaski and Suzuki too, they all squeze out more power each year it seems."
The 2004 CBR600F4i put down at least ten LESS rwhp than the 2003 CBR600F4i.

Interesting read in Motorcycle Consumer News last issue concerning the games that manufacturers play with HP stats and even pre-production bikes provided to the press.

It's small wonder then why a new RC51 which is purported to put down 130 rwhp, only makes 115 rwhp when an owner actually runs it on a dyno.

You know what?? They put out whatever they think sells. In a year, maybe 2, they will look at their numbers and decide if they were right or not. It really has NOTHING to do with what we think or post here.

Go ride your damn bad Buell and quit your whinning, Jeezus.

My bike (XB9S/R) ain't the fastest in a straight line, and I am not the fastest person in the twisties. The bike is still tons of fun, nothing brings a case of perma grin like thinking of my bike (for me), and most importantly - IF YA DONT GET IT, YOU JUST WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND!

It's an awesome bike all on its own, it does not need the approval of the Jap crowd. For crying out loud, its a pushrod V-Twin, the frame is the gas tank and the swing arm is the oil sump. It has absolutely nothing in common with the inline 4 crowd!! Its innovative, ingenious, and most of all FUN!!!
Quit comparing it to the Jap Inline 4 race replica's.

Enjoy your ride and have fun. If you dont like the Buell, dont buy it or trade the one you got in and go get an inline 4 and be like the rest of the conformists out there.

Sorry, but these "We didnt get more HP/Goodies/Dont see "The Vision" threads are annoying. I happen to be very happy with my purchase of the Buell. It is an incredibly fun bike, it brings a smile to my face just thinking about it, and its different. Hear that?!?! Its different, not like the rest. I dont want to ride up to a group of bikes and "Be like the rest", I am my own person and I ride what I enjoy.

Keep the rubber side down and have fun!
