Hello,

I've read the post on this subject in february archive and I would like to know if I can modify the uly undertray to put SS tail on it. This way would be easier for me because I've not to change the preload adjuster, ECM mounting, fuse and relay block.

Thank

The short answer is No.......

The Uly undertray is very different because of the different tail unit. When I did this conversion in 2005 I had to use an XB12SS undertray and also make a new battery box (although the XB12SS battery box will fit).
The prelaod adjuster just fitted under the seat in spare space but there was no way to fit it in the normal position.

thank for your response..

Well, the uly undertray is longer than the SS. I was thinking to cut it to the good dimension to put the ss tail. If you say it's impossible, I'm going to find an SS undertray and a new battery box

Nothing is impossible if you have the tools, time and the will, but teh Uly undertray is much wider at the back so cutting it may not line up very well with the SS tail unit unfortunately. You could cut/fill for a while to get a satisfactory result but I think the SS undertray would be far less hassle : )

Hello,
I will start this work in winter time... The idea is to have 2 in one. I would like to find a solution to replace Uly tail and seat by SS (STT)as I need. STT tail is good if I'm alone and short travel. But sometime, with my wife we take the uly for two week and then I need the Uly tail. I would like to change this without passing a day to make conversion.
I will post here my work hoping to find the good solution

Simon,
I have made this conversion to my Uly. I am able to go from the TT tail to the Uly tail in about 45 minutes.
Shoot me an email and I can send you some pics.
Check out my profile pic, it's the Uly with the TT tail in place.

Bob,

That's pretty darn cool! I'm looking to do the opposite, Uly tail on my Ss for touring with a passenger but also want to be able to revert relatively easily.

On my ulySSes ('06 Ss) I was able to put the preload adjuster close to the stock uly location.
