I'm getting ready to do address a rear rocker cover leak that's getting progressively worse & need a 'Top End Gasket Kit'. So, HD vs. Cometic Top End Gasket Kit Any advice which kit to go with? Also, install dry or add some type of 'elastomeric rubber' gasket sealer/maker or RTV? The last time I tore into an engine, 327's were still rolling off the production line. Thanks, John . |

For rocker gaskets (NOT head gaskets) you may want to use some dabs of silicone - not to seal but to hold the molded rubber pieces in place as you close them up in the rocker covers. The thick silicone paste acts as a sticky glue that prevents the gasket from moving around. This is NOT a full-gasket use of silicone but a few dabs. |

oops - didn't really answer your question - I have run both Cometic and stock. No preference. HEAD gaskets though, I'd use Cometic but pay attention to gasket thickness. |
