Where to buy? Wire form broke, boot melted on the pipe. Cable was replaced recently, so I'm not gonna buy the whole deal. Any theories on why the wire form snapped? Thanks. |

the bent wire cable guides are known to break. there is an updated stamped sheet design that is much better. |

Real good. By the way, when Googleized, this is the best I could come up with for the boot. I'm still going back and forth on shipping with the guy. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ _trksidZp3984Q2em1423Q2el2649QQitemZ230525064858QQ sspagenameZSTRKQ3aMEWAXQ3aIT |

That don't seem too bad. Less than $7 shipped. Or are you trying to get him to next day it? |

I covered mine with "rescue tape" almost two years ago, seems better than the stock boot. I did buy the stamped bracket, way better than stock wireform. |

Good find lastcyclone. Where was this 4 years ago when the wire form broke on my Ulysses? You could use shrink tubing tubing too. It available with heat activated sealer, so the joint would be weather tight. |

Same happened on my R. Found that I could very gently bend the top wire out some and it provides sufficient clearance. |

I'm not sure when this became standard equipment, but for those that need it, buy this part.
$13 and you will not worry. Also, I have two extra boot covers that I can get to anyone in the US for $5 shipping included. Now I'm going to spend the hour it takes to put it on. |
