The feul filter isn't a maintenance item in my shop manual but there are two. Are they just screens like a dirt bike or should they be serviced every xxxxx miles? How many miles has everyone gone before cleaning or replacing them ?

I've be doing mine at 20K, only because I'm upgrading the pump motor (out of desire, not because I have to). It is one of the "depends" questions. How dirty is the fuel that goes into your bike? That is all relative to where you live and where you fill up at.

One is a mesh debris screen on the end of the fuel pump motor, the other is an in-line canister.

Alt part number for in-line canister:
Autozone FF3330

Both of which are located in the fuel tank.
