Author Message   Lpowel02 Posted on Friday, July 09, 2004 - 02:09 pm:        I was riding home the other day and pulled up to a stop sign. As I stopped, my bike (9R) cut out...I hit the starter and as I did, the "Service Engine" light flashed on and both needles swept over as though I had just turned it on...the bike started fine and I rode home with no problems at all. When I got home I found my tripmeters (1, 2 and F) had all reset - odometer was ok and the time on my clock was off by a few hours. anyone experienced anything like this before? It's happened twice in just over a month or so, but the bike runs great otherwise.   Hogs Posted on Friday, July 09, 2004 - 02:14 pm:        Howdy Lpowel02 Just a Guess here but Check to see that both your battery cables are Super TIGHT.. if you lose a connection for a split second what you described could be caused by that.. OR any other thing that could cause a quick lost of juice... I think the power just tripped on you like you think. I would go as far as tracing the wires and making sure there are no spots that are rubbed through as well..   Trevorxb9s Posted on Friday, July 09, 2004 - 03:34 pm:        Lpowel02- I had the same problem. I tried several things. I made sure the battery cables where secure and sat with a beer and stared for several minutes. I finially decided that the battery strap might be the issue. The battery strap is the most difficult thing in the world to fasten, but after I managed to get it fastened the problem went away. I have put on about an additional 1000 miles since and all is well.
