Dang. Replaced my 06 Uly voltage regulator. The new regulator came with a new 77 plug, this one is a Deutsch connector (old one was a Packard). OK, there are only two wires on the 77 bike plug, one red, one black....but the voltage regulator wires are both black. Anybody know which lead the red wire goes to? Ohm check anybody?

IIRC, one of the wires on each connector goes to ground. Get an ohmmeter and check.

You can also verify which wire connects to the red wire via the old 77 connector on your old VR, mark it, and install the new 77 connector so it's the same polarity.

Check the Big, Bad, & Dirty forum; this question has been posted there more than once.
