Last Friday took the Buell XB9/S/R to My Local HD/Buell dealer. Ask for oil change, using SYN-3 Oil.
On the top of the Work order it says "Oil and filter change SYN-3"
down below after the service, it says parts, 3 one QT.20w50..2.75 each, total 8.37
Now that is not SYN-3 cost.
So, I call service department and voice my concern, no biggie either way, I just would like to know what oil I am running. service guy goes and ask the Tech, of course HarleyBob can't remember.
Is there any way for me to tell by looking at oil?
Like I said, no big deal, I didn't pay for SYN-3, I would just like to know..just another fubar at the HD boutique

Sounds like you didn't get syn-3. This is the reason I do my own oil changes but each to their own.

ALWAYS do my own for this reason. If it were me, I would drain it out and do it myself with Mobil 1 15-50W.
