Hey all, been lurking for a bit, finally posting as I'm in the middle of getting my 2007 Firebolt XB12R hopefully a lot more comfortable to ride. I did 100 miles on it the other day, then took a 4 hour nap, lol

I just ordered:

A Motocentric Mototrek 19 Tank Bag. Had a bag once, got stolen, loved to lean on it.

XB-S/ XB-R Grip Pads: #16145F Frame Only Kit

Touring windshield
Firebolt +3" Windscreen: #9020-Red Red color

I know i want a touring seat too for sure, a used Pegasus sounds like the cheapest and best way to go from what I've read. Anyone hoarding? lol

I was thinking of getting risers for the bars too, but want to see how all the above feels first. Really want to take a long trip with my bolt!

You can get a custom Corbin seat for the price that the used touring seats are going for on ebay. I sold my touring seat set of $325 a few months back.

Or find a cheap stock seat and bring to a local shop to get it done exactly how you want it.

my red rocket..

Come on someone sell me there Pegasus touring seat for $200 so my ass don't hurt no more. I've seen them go for less then that, $25 once on eBay since someone didn't know what they had obviously, but none the less i think 2 bills shipped it fair for a used one.

That's a hot commodity here bro. You would seriously have better luck finding a stock seat, and having it redone to your specs. I have one, and it's invaluable to have the option to put my stock seat on and sink over 1 inch farther into the bike. Changes the whole rider triangle. Get one made. Go for both options!

I have often thought of getting rid of mine and getting a stock seat but I figure i would not get that much for mine since the Pegasuses are faded and there is a small crack on it. but the only way I would get rid of it is if I had a replacement for it first.

It's been a while in the making, but we're on the verge of releasing a Saddlemen Firebolt/1125R seat. It's in final fit check now, and is getting the first ride test this weekend. Here's a sneak preview of the prototype:

Production units are still a few weeks away, but it'll be a good seat. That Perineum comfort channel REALLY works. I never really noticed the pressure there until I sat on two seats back-to-back with and without that channel there. There are also gel channels embedded into the normal foam on either side of the center channel. It's a MUCH more comfy seat on first static testing. One of our local customers has THIS seat on his 1125CR for a long ride this weekend, I'll have a comfort report back on it first of next week.

My biggest complaint about the stocker is that I'm usually sitting on my bits and pieces. This looks like it would remedy most of that. PLUS the shape looks padded like the select, but a lower shape like the stocker. Kinda right in between the stocker and the select. Nice work Al!!! I hope your gettin' a case of these things! I'm curious of the pricing too.

They'll be $259.95. This is built on a custom fiberglass pan with metal attachment points. It's a quality built seat.

There will be s few covering options. One with a covering pattern that looks an awful lot like this R1 seat:

R1

Was the favorite picked from several choices by a track rider on a recent test on a Kawasaki sport bike. It's a synthetic suede that supposedly wears well, drys quickly, and is cool to sit on, with just enough butt grip without being sticky. That's surely the one I'll have on my 1125 track bike.

We'll stock some of each, and maybe a couple other patterns.

This weekends ride report, then I have to bring a bike up to Saddlemen for final fit testing, and it'll release.

I've tested fit on it with both the screws and seat release pins on a firebolt, an 1125CR, and 2 1125R's, so I'm confident the fit will be good.

Stay tuned, it ain't a chicken til it's hatched. It's been a long time in the hatching, But it's very close.

Al

PS Made in the USA.....

Al,
This is AWESOME!! So I can stop looking for a new seat for my R and just wait for you to get these on your shelf. I'll be getting one that is for sure.

Very nice, Al. I have wanted to make something like this for a while-look at the bicycle seas that are available. It should give some relief between the buttbones.
The R1-ish styling (but with rounded forms)is very cool, as the Yamis are very edgy.
I may have to give up the Corbin.

Love the seat. I have a touring seat now and would give it up in a heart beat for that seat.

GREAT work Al!

Al!! That seat's got a dick channel! I need me a seat with a dick channel now! lol

No seriously, i gotta have it.

I was literally just mixing and matching different leather styles on Corbin's site because the Pegasus on eBay i was watching is up to $190 and i was like, it i'll just get a new one. Thought id check this thread one more time and Woohoo!!

Any plans for a matching comfy back seat for my girl? Minus the junk ditch, lol

The beef i was having at Corbin; so many styles, then i thought they might look dumb next to a stock back seat. But that leather one you show in the first pictures is a real nice complement.

Anyway to get the center dick channel in a Buell red like on my bike? I don't know, think it might look cool. Thoughts?

Just got the 1" lower pegs on today, only took it for a spin around the block but i like it. Really can feel the shifter and brake better now. I could never get it into neutral easy, always slipped past it one way, then the other. Got it right in a few times with the new pegs though.

Funny, i just order from your site a few days ago Al. I'm the guy who got the red touring windshield and the Frame Only Kit snake skin Grip Pads. Been eying one of your handle bar riser kits too!

I'll buy one of those seats right now if you got one Al,.. but if not is this where they'll be listed as soon as they are available?

...if so, putting that page on heavy watch, lol

Oh yea...forgot to mention.. for that price, it comes with a bonnet type matching cover for the rear pillion. And when it is installed, you can't tell that it is a bonnet type cover, it just looks like it is the actual cover.

Are there any decent saddle options available for the Buell XB9s.

Cheers.

Well, I rather like the Corbin that I have on the shop XB9S. But that is a seat that I put on back when we were a Corbin dealer, and we had our version of it built. The Corbin profile doesn't look all that great to me, kinda tall in the rear. But they'll build it with a lower rear if you ask them. But they're just such a PITA to work with, and they're expensive.

Saddlemen doesn't have an S seat, and there isn't a plan at this time that I'm aware of, maybe that can change.

Note: NONE of these are leather. They're synthetic. Leather is good, and leather sucks. It breathes, it looks nice, but get it wet and it looks like crap and gets all wrinkly, and it requires more care to keep looking good. The synthetic materials have their advantages. The synthetic suede is pretty nice stuff, my track bike will definitely have that on it.

I am not sure about the newer ones but the 03 seats are synthetic, and the touring seat is as well.
