We're looking at ways to fit my gf on my XB9 CityX, and with some higher boots, she's pretty close.

I currently have the M0090.1AC seat - I believe this is the "Skyline Narrow" seat.

I'm seeing options for a M0076.3AE seat as the lowest option.

How much difference is there between these two? I *believe* the Skyline Narrow seat I have is the stock seat, which means the lower seat should be worth about an inch - is this accurate?

Alternately, I'm seeing some people talking about Corbin making a super-low and comfy seat. Any comparisons on this?

Thanks!

I saw another thread of a guy who had back surgery and needed to lower his bike as well. I think some people mentioned new forks and rear suspension to get it lower. The bad thing is with ultra-low seats, is if it gets too low, there won't be much padding left to keep her comfortable.

EDIT:
Ok, I just went out to my bike and compared it to the pictures online. I have the M0076.3AE seat (the lower one). From the pictures online, my seat looks like it is almost a full inch lower than the one you have.

The previous owner requested a lower seat from the dealer when he bought the bike. I am about 5'-10" and the height feels good because I like to sit more upright. I can go maybe an hour or so before my butt starts hurting and I have to take a short break.

But an XB9SL or XB12Scg seat is gonna be the lowest factory seats.

Blaylock: Awesome, I was looking at ordering the M0076.3AE. An inch would be a major step in the right direction.

When I bought my bike, it had the standard seat...I am real short legged and did not like the seat that high...I bought a "low" seat which made a good bit of difference..

Recently, my "low" seat was vandalized, so I put the stock seat back on for until I can get the low seat reworked...the stock seat is "skinnier" and rounded...after maybe 30-40 miles it really becomes a bother.

The low seat has very little padding, but is effectively "wider" (both use the same seat pan) and give much better support...I can ride all day with the low seat even though it has less padding.

When I get it reupholstered, it will get a gel pad for a bit more comfort.

M0076.3AE is the XB12SCG seat and is the lowest OEM seat.

If they all use the same seat pan, then couldn't you send it to one of the many custom seat places and ask them to make it lower and get a custom color while you are doing it?

Does anyone make a thin seat with something like Spenco gel as the padding?

There are a couple of companies that I know of that can do that...neither is a sponsor here. I am sure there are many regional shops that can do a good job..

The is a Badwebber called Gowindward??? maybe send him a "howyadooin'"...Fast

If the M0076.3AE isn't low enough and thicker-soled boots don't work, I'll definitely consider some custom seat work.

Given that I can find a new M0076.3AE for about $110 shipped, though, I think that's the cheaper option to try first : )

Buy this guys seat:
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/21/ 634459.html?1306372702

For reference, I have watched MANY seats sell for about $50 on the forum. I bought one for my wife's XB for $20 from a local Bueller (ans that was actually a new, mint condition SCG seat- same shape as the 9SL, but different material and newer).
