One day at work a customer told me a friend of theirs was trying to sell a ducati for cheap and I should go check it out. I was riding an '06 ZX6R 636 at the time and used to walk ducati's all the time and didnt have much intrest in it, but I had wanted a V Twin bike for awhile. (was looking at buells, rc51's and SV's) so I said why the hell not lets go check it out. Ended up not being what I expected and I see this Blue Buell in the corner stuffed under some boxes with some plastics missing, I asked "what about that bike over there", dude said "oh you dont want that, its american its slow and it will give you lots of problems". I pulled it out and put a jumper on it but it wouldnt hold a charge and was running off the jumper. (it sat for 4+ years) Threw the guy an offer and he took it, went back with the cash and a new battery and took her home.    Got her home and she cleaned up very well... couldnt wait to start her up and ride her after checking everything over.  Then took her out for her first ride...     Jumping off the 636 and getting on the buell made me address a few issues... brakes, steering shake, and power... so those were my first mods.. ZTL2 Brakes, 06+ Style scoop on '03 cover, dyno tune       Then a few other little things...   | ||

Did a few more little things, blacked out emblems, hid's, 1125R mirrors, XB lights rear light, Still down on power I picked up a micron exhaust as the numbers they made on the 9 engine were looking good from reviews..and yet another dyno tune.         | ||

I ended up picking up a tube frame bike, and blew it up after a month or two of racing it. Instead of fixing the motor in the tube frame bike (heads barrels and pistons were done) I bought a 12 engine for my XB. Worked out perfect as now I can use my XB9 Heads, Pistons, and Barrels on the tube frame bike and have a more powerful engine in my XB which I wanted to do anyways. I get to upgrade both for the price of one!         Hals Racing Swing arm for chain drive kit, and my new 12 engine..    Got her running good, then off for another dyno tune...   Then comes paint..     | ||

Then Apart again for suspension work (yeah I know, paint before drivetrain wtf! I got a good hookup on the paint, normally I wouldnt give a **** how it looks until it rides the way I want it to)         2010 Scoop and Frame is done! In looking at the pictures, it appears that the 1125 front end has shorter forks, is this true? If so do you change the ride height on the rear to match? | ||

I measured and compared 2008 1125 and 04 XB forks and they are the same length from upper edge fork leg to hart of axle. | ||

Fins look nice, just a little something to relieve the black. Is that the 12 or the 9 motor? If it's going in the XB I'd say fins for sure. Not so sure if you're using it in the Cyclone. | ||

Fins then, you've got a lot of black, it will give some accent and help the eye pick out the engine, instead of it being a black lump. Blacked out is cool too, really cool... but there's enough of those on the road that I've gotten the impression that it all kind of blurs together without some details for highlights, adds depth. Just my opinion of course. You obviously know what you are about. That paint is gorgeous. Gonna find some black Buell emblems or leave it all paint? | ||

I have some Black and red 1125CR emblems for the tanks but i dont know, its so nice in person I cant bring my self to put stickers over it. Was gonna kandy over the red edges so the emblems kinda match the paint but i dont know. Im pretty set on the fins, although the engine is the crappiest part of the whole drivetrain, it IS what makes the bike different. Might as well show it off I guess. Im doing my calipers and wheels the same red as the body | ||
