Is it just me or do you think it would be nice to see a face lifted XB using another Harley engine? Out of all the bikes I have had the XB was my favorite. If they keep the design pretty much the same but with newer updates and body work it would be a great seller like the original XB. Come on Eric..

Because the XB mill is based on HD's technology, HD would never let it happen. ERIK ( )would have to create a whole new air cooled motor. With the EPA tightening up, it's not a promising reality.
I love my XB too.

Rumor has it that Mr. Buell has been in negotiation with S&S.....

There's a link here somewhere.

This S&S 'rumor' seems to only emanate from a few places around here. Source?

Based on what I've read of Erik Buell Racing's connection with S&S and my personal feelings which are in check with Gun's, I am not holding my breath for another XB.

As much as I love my XB, I'd find a way to love an ~800 cc Rotax twin in my next Buell!

s and s helped ebr with the epa stuff as they have the equipment for that sort of thing. source was an article talking about the 1190rs that just mentioned that but not any sort of colabo with an engine.

I absolutely love the XB series...but I'm not holding my breath for a new XB line.

I doubt it would ever happen, even with an S+S built powerplant. As much as the elves did a great job paring weight and adding power to the old 45 degree mill, it would make more sense to use an air cooled version of the Helicon; way lighter than the Sporty based lump, and an air cooled version, especially one with extra stroke, could easily make a buck twenty all day. Air cooled Ducs and Beemers manage it, Rotax would have no problems with a project like that. Then, existing frame designs for the 1125 mill could be used as well.

Not a fan of the rotax engine until they get the bugs worked out. Looks like a lot of people are having stator issues. Plus i prefer the sound of the harley engine which was plenty fast for me!

I love my bike and all and I like the harley v-twin and all but I really would like to see Erik come up with something new with a better performing air cooled engine such as the duc engines.

There have never been any bugs with the 1125 Rotax motor. The stator issue you refer to was only on the 09/10 models and is easily fixed by going to a 08 or aftermarket stator. Lots of people have issues with the stators on the older XB's too. : )

As for the S&S thing, it was my understanding from news that Erik Buell Racing used S&S facilities to help the 1190RS become a reality. Could it lead to a new air cooled motor? Possibly, but I wouldn't count on it.

Yea I do not see a stator issue as a buggy engine. Rotax has always had a reputation of building reliable engines over the years.
