Results matter. All the rest is BS.

Xopti, you are WAY too presumptive in your public announcements. I've seen it time and time again. You even involved me once. I very much resented that, so I understand exactly Dris' point of view. Your presumption comes across as grandstanding trying to co-opt and associate yourself with the efforts of others. Lawsuits suck. Might want to back off and focus on strictly your own endeavors.

Kevin (Kdogshirow),

You are WAY out of line. Your intent was obviously not to learn, but to denigrate. then it just turned mean. Time out for you.

Dris,

>>> I completely agree with you, only the talking people that every time i post search the fight are not MY customers... They have never bought anything from us.

There is truth in there.

That said, you shouldn't let yourself be pulled down into the miserableness. Be better than that.

Before you get excited remember he is using metric units nm newton meters not ft.lbs on the TQ.
87 nm ~= 64 ft lbs

stock bike 2008
Buell Thunderstorm 984 fuel-injected air/oil/fan-cooled V-Twin engine 84 peak hp @ 7500 rpm (per SAE J607) 68 ft. lbs. peak torque @ 5250 rpm (per SAE J607) DDFI 3 Electronic Fuel Injection ECM

Those stock bike #'s are brake dyno numbers at the crankshaft. Very poor form to try to equate them to rear wheel inertial dyno results. : |

Still, the wind blows in many directions...

It's metric units hands down, you cant deny that . nm vs ft.lbs totally different than common terns used in the USA.

It's proven that all factors come into play when mapping(Even as posted on the twins site in an article.). The same maps do not work in different conditions. Especially made on different bikes from the different environments.

to each is own as many say...

Its your sandbox. I am taking the advice (from Blake) and avoiding the ignorance...

B1bomber,
What is your goal with your American Flag post? The reason I ask is because the only thing I've seen you do, with this topic, is jump on somebody else's coattails. Now you post an American flag as if to insult Easyrider with it. What does that prove? How does "You’re wrong, because I'm an American" help your argument? From my understanding, Buell sold more bikes overseas than in the USA. So there goes the American support. This info comes from an article I read a few years ago.

Having traveled to many countries, and even living in Europe for a stretch, there is a reason that the rest of the world doesn't like us or most of our products. It isn't only because of quality, but they also resent the attitude.

I'm not arguing about this topic, because I don't know the past between the people. However it doesn't look like they like each other.

I don't want to stir the pot, but It makes sense that you can't tune for different places like X said. But on the other hand people buy race ecms and Erik Buell Racing preprogrammed ecms all the time and like the results. What gives? really I'm not trying to make a mess. Or is it just a minimal differance so you can do a standard program, but for the best results you have to put your bike on the dyno where you ride it?

and by the by public pissing matches between sponsors suck.

>>> It makes sense that you can't tune for different places like X said.

That's odd. Every major new commercial motorcycle sold on the planet these days is pretty much tuned for different places.

Seems to me that as long as the O2 sensor and other atmospheric sensors are being employed, a good tuner ought to be able to do a pretty good job of mapping an ECM to work well in most places.

Does Erik Buell Racing provide a different tune depending on customer location? I don't think so.

B1bomber,
You can't get sucked into anything. If the fighting sickens you, why contribute to it? Now, don't go running off. If you have 12 years of Buell experience, you should stick around. I'm sure you will give good advice, from your experience. We all get into e-arguements. So don't get butt-hurt too much. Stick around we might get better.

George

Last time I checked my Erik Buell Racing ecm and my American sportbike ECM had a wisconsin and California map respectively and the o2 took care of the rest. I dont have any of the "Twin" products but know a guy here who uses the 1125r stacks and love them. The only issue was getting through customs. Not a "twin" issue as far I can tell

Good point. +1
Also text isn't the best way to communicate either, a lot is lost when you can't see a face or hear the tone of voice.
